Through the TurnaroundArts Initiative, all students will participate in arts disciplines that include: dance, music, visual and theater arts. Arts education is integrated across the content areas for students in grades TK-5. Additionally, discrete art instruction is provided to students in grades 4/5 through our district-funded music program. Students in grades 4/5 will receive instruction in band, choir, or strings.
Arts Integration is an APPROACH to TEACHING in which students construct and demonstrate UNDERSTANDING through an ART FORM. Students engage in a CREATIVE PROCESS, which CONNECTS an art form and another subject area and meets EVOLVING OBJECTIVES in both.
