About Burbank School

About Our School

Bienvenidos, welcome! We are the pride of historic Logan Heights. Our school offers neighborhood children a beautiful new school filled with the latest technology. Our students work hard to succeed. From their school our students can see grand views of the downtown skyscrapers and the harbor beyond.

We hold high expectations for the students at Luther Burbank Elementary. We believe that our students will graduate with the skills, motivation, curiosity and resilience to succeed in their choice of College and Career in order to lead and participate in the society of tomorrow because of the strong foundation they learned here.

There is a strong sense of community at Burbank Elementary. Many of our students' parents and even grandparents have graduated from Burbank. We provide a broad and challenging curriculum that aligns with the Common Core State Standards. All stakeholders are committed to a vision of excellence.

Most of our students come from homes where Spanish is the primary language spoken. Burbank student body is currently 96% Hispanic, and approximately 70% percent of our students are Learning English as their second language. Because of this, our classrooms are rich in learning experiences focusing on English language development and reading comprehension.

We work with the community to ensure a safe and positive learning environment that promotes preparation, continuous improvement, and excellence! Opportunities for parent participation include Family Fridays, Family Learning Nights (Literacy, Math, Science), Parent Workshops & Training Opportunities, English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), and School Site Council (SSC). Contact the main office to learn more of how YOU can be involved in our School Community.
